I used to spend 2-3 hours researching every blog post.

Open 15 tabs. Skim articles. Cross-reference facts. Forget where I read something. Go back and find it again.

Then I found Perplexity AI.

Now that same research takes 20 minutes.

Here's how it works:

Perplexity is like if Google and ChatGPT had a baby. You ask a question in plain English, and it gives you a direct answer WITH sources cited.

No more scrolling through 10 blue links hoping one has what you need.

My workflow now:

1. Ask Perplexity my research question

2. Read the summary it generates

3. Click the sources to verify key facts

4. Ask follow-up questions to go deeper

5. Export the conversation for reference

Real example from this week:

Old way: "best AI tools small business 2026" → 45 minutes reading listicles, half outdated

New way: Asked Perplexity "What are the most recommended AI tools for small businesses in 2026, with pricing?" → Got a comprehensive answer with 8 sources in 3 minutes.

The free tier is generous. You get enough searches for casual research. Pro ($20/month) is worth it if you're researching daily.

Caveats:

- Still verify important facts (AI can hallucinate)

- Doesn't replace deep expertise reading

- Some sources are behind paywalls

But for 80% of research tasks? Game changer.

Try it: perplexity.ai (not sponsored, just genuinely useful)
